Your telecommunications exchange needs to be running at all times, even during power outages. Who else is going to transfer emergency calls to the unaffected land lines? If you have CFL, T5, T8, T9, T10 or T12 fixtures linked to an emergency generator, all you need is the CB90-48 central battery ballast to make them UL 924 Listed!
Developed by Philips Bodine, the CB90-48 connects to any standard 48-volts DC battery or gas-powered generator, keeping your overhead lighting on for several hours (depending on the emergency power supply). The emergency ballast features solid-state power inverters, electromagnetic interference filters and delayed switching circuitry.
Features
- Ballast Type: Emergency
- Lamp Wattage: 17-215W
- Input Wattage: 0.5W
- Dual 120/277V line voltage input, 60Hz cycles
- Operates: One or two T5, T8, T10 or T12 linear fluorescent; long compact, twin, triple, quad or 2D CFLs
- Lumens (at 10-feet): 1100-3100 lm
- UL 924 listed
- Min/Max Temp: 32° to 131°F
- 1-year full warranty
Application
The CB90-48 will produce between 1100 to 3100Lm of initial illumination for most linear fluorescent, CFL, 2D and U-bent lamps. It will wire up to a dedicated 48-volt DC circuit that is tied to a central backup generator or battery. It works in conjunction with the non-emergency AC ballast and can be mounted as far as 50-feet away from the fixture.
External Specifications
The emergency battery pack comes in a shiny black metal case that shrouds the vital circuitry within and creates a barrier against moisture and dust. The CB90-48 should not be used in damp locations or HVAC ducts. The case features mounting feet for grounding inside, on top or away from the fixture.
